What Is Your Passion?

“What is your passion?”

I read this question and I thought, “Golly, I don’t have a CLUE what my passion is anymore!”

These words swirled in my mind as I embarked on a new chapter in life. After dedicating 18 years of my life to being a full-time homeschool mom, I found myself at a loss. I felt like I had been on a merry-go-round going at 50mph, and all of a sudden, I was flung off of it. I didn’t know where I was or what to do next.

My personal journey of rediscovering my passion and purpose after an all-consuming career as a homeschool mom MIGHT be similar to your journey - let me know!

The Role of a Homeschool Mom

For those who may not be familiar with the role of a homeschool mom, it goes far beyond just educating your child at home. It involves meticulous planning, loads of self-doubt, teaching, and sometimes even taking on leadership roles in homeschooling co-ops.

As a homeschool mom, I wore many hats: teacher, counselor, event planner, and tutor, among others. It was indeed an absolute privilege, and I am grateful for every moment I spent with my daughter, fully immersed in her education.

While I cherished every moment, it was not without its challenges. In addition to my role as an educator and mother, I also had to navigate the painful loss of my babies, my mother, and my dear sister-in-law.

These losses were emotionally draining and made it even more difficult to contemplate what lay ahead. In the midst of sorrow and uncertainty, there was one thing I was certain of: God would provide. I would often say it aloud, “God will provide,” and I had seen Him do so time and time again in my life.

As my daughter graduated and made plans for her next stage of life, I found myself at a loss. I knew it was time to contribute my gifts and that God wasn’t finished with me, but where should I start? I declared that God would guide me, even if I was shaking as I said it! I began with a willingness to try new things.

My Journey of Discovery – or Julie Tries It All

Over the past four years, I have read books as I try to rediscover my passion and purpose. It hasn’t been a linear path, but I have gained from each experience.

1.       Working in a Downton Abbey-esque Home: I had the opportunity to be part of a staff of seven in a grand old home, an experience that educated me in household management.

2.     Tutoring in Classical Christian Education: Sharing my passion for Classical education, I tutored high school students, helping them navigate challenging subjects by asking questions. I loved the relationships that we built, and I still cheer these students on in their new endeavors.

3.     Personal Tutoring: I had the privilege of tutoring my high school niece. It was LOADS of fun to be with her, and I enjoyed the 1-on-1 tutoring.

4.     Virtual Assistant for an Interior Designer: Currently, I work as a virtual assistant for a talented designer. This role allows me to tap into my organizational and creative skills, and I find great satisfaction in helping bring her creative designs to people.

And now…

I craved a community that shared my passion for living life to the fullest, one that didn’t shy away from emotions but encouraged their exploration and processing. My dear friend, Mariel, introduced me to Life Mentoring School, where I discovered Christian life coaching and a vibrant community of women who shared my desire for a purposeful, vibrant, living-life-fully existence.

Discovering Life Mentoring School

Life Mentoring School is not your typical coaching program. It’s a place where Biblical principles and life coaching merge to offer a holistic approach to personal development and emotional well-being. When I stumbled upon this unique community, I knew I had found the missing piece of my life’s puzzle.

The Power of Christian Life Coaching

Christian life coaching is about embracing God’s word and modern neuroscience to transform every aspect of our lives. It’s about learning to navigate the complexities of life, not by ignoring our emotions but by embracing them. This coaching method acknowledges that, as human beings, we are emotional creatures. Instead of suppressing our feelings, Christian life coaching encourages us to process and understand them, leading to personal growth and transformation.

Community of Passionate Women

One of the most remarkable aspects of my journey with Life Mentoring School is the community of women who share my passion for living life fully. These women come from all walks of life, each with their own unique stories and challenges. What unites us is the desire to explore our emotions, embrace our faith, and support one another in our journeys.

The sense of community is uplifting and empowering. We learn from one another’s experiences, celebrate each other’s victories, and provide a safe space to open up about our struggles. This sisterhood has become an invaluable support system, and I am deeply grateful for the connections I’ve made here.

A Fuller Life Awaits

My journey with Christian life coaching through Life Mentoring School has been transformative. It has taught me to embrace my emotions, find strength in my faith, and take proactive steps to live a more meaningful life. As I continue to grow, I am passionate to share this incredible experience with others, so they too can discover the beauty of living life to the fullest.

Life is a precious gift, and it’s meant to be lived fully. Christian life coaching at Life Mentoring School has provided me with the tools, the community, and the guidance to embrace every emotion and aspect of my life. I am thankful for this opportunity, and I am excited to share it with others who are seeking a more fulfilling and purposeful existence.

I may not have all the answers yet, but I am on the path to discovering what truly sets my heart on fire. Through the challenges, the losses, and the uncertainties, I have found that God does indeed provide. He has provided me with opportunities to explore, learn, and grow, and I am excited to see where this journey will lead me next.

If you, like me, find yourself at a crossroads in life, remember that your passion and purpose are not lost; they may just be waiting for the right moment to reveal themselves. Embrace your faith, trust the journey, and never stop seeking what sets your soul on fire.

I believe in YOU!!

love, Julie
